Bone Marrow Biopsy Monday & Chemo Tuesday Updates

Today Vince had the bone marrow biopsy. He was really not looking forward to this one at all! As they were prepping him for surgery, the anesthesiologist proceeds to inform him that they will give him a "twilight sleep medicine" and he won't feel a thing. Well, that didn't go over too well with Vince, but I convinced him that it would be fine and that this would mean that he would not feel like crap all day. So, he said ok...they took him away and when he got out of recovery he was in BIG pain! He said he could tell they were doing something, but didn't really care at the time! Thank God for drugs! They took some bone from his hip and he is sore, but not as much as he thought. He said it hurts like bad landing from trying to do a skate trick, so he is very used to that feeling! OUCH! He has actually had a pretty good day (thank you for all the prayers out there!) God is so good! Just when we feel as though we are being drained, God fills us up and carries us through just in time for the next round!

We are pretty much on the same schedule...up every 2-3 hrs. giving him pain meds & back massages...reminds me of when he was a baby and I was up every 2-3 hrs. breastfeeding! I am not complaining at all here...it is an honor & a blessing to be able to spend time with him and comfort him in his time of need! That's what Mom's are for! (and dad's, too:) No matter how old our kids are...they always need us, even when they don't think they do...Love you mom & dad!! xoxoxo

Tomorrow is a big day! He starts chemo! We just found out around 6 pm when the Dr.'s office called and told us. This is the day that we have been looking forward to, so that Vince can be on his way to recovery! We know that it will be long and challenging, but we are trusting that God will get him through with miraculous results! We have had people wanting to know what to pray for specifically and here is what Vince really needs:
1. That the treatments would be effective, yet more mild than we could ever imagine
2. That he would get relief from the pain in his arm within a few days
3. That he would be able to rest comfortably and get the much needed rest his body needs to heal

Thank you to the Reilly's for your timely gift tonight! The "Chemo Kit" will come in handy in the next few days for sure!! Thank you to Allie & Aidan for helping mommy with the kit and wrapping the yummy cookies she made! You rock!
Ps. 28:7 the Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted Him, and greatly
rejoices, and with my song I will praise him.
Ps. 29:11 The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will bless His people
with peace.
