Heard Some Good News!

It's about 5:30 pm on Sunday. We just got off of the phone with Jim's Oncologist and he was and always has been extremely positive. He said that the cure rate IF it is bone cancer is right around 80-85% chance, which is great news and that's IF it is the worst case scenario. He said there is still a small chance that it is benign (love that word) and we won't know for sure until he has a bone biopsy, which will be done in one of two ways...open biopsy or a core biopsy. He explained them to us but of course we will look it up on the internet to check it out further. He is hoping to get that done within 48 hrs. from tomorrow, if possible. He is going to find us THE best surgeon for this type of cancer (he has only seen about 50 of these cases in his 38 yrs. of practice), but, he is extremely optimistic for cure! The Lord has given us such a peace about this and Vince is just ready to get it started so that his pain will eventually go away, although he knows it won't be easy, especially if he has to go through chemo & radiation. But, he is ready. Dr. Justice said that this is a fast growing cancer (if it is cancer) and that chemo attacks those types of cancers very aggressively. That sounds good to us! He said that we are going to get through this "as a family unit" and that he will be talking with us a lot as we take this journey. He will monitor Vince ever so closely. We gave Dr. Justice the name of the dr. that was recommended to us by the orthopedic and also by Jim's cousin, Piper (she is a dr. at UCLA & a friend of the specialist) and said they were great dr.'s and highly recommends them as well, but we are still trusting that he will check them out and if there happens to be someone even better than they are, we will take that route, but for now they are at the top of the list. Tomorrow we will spend the day tracking down all the MRI's and X-Rays that Vince has had done in the past 5 mths. and collecting them all to take to our first appt. so that they can determine even more about his case. All of the prayers we have received are being felt big time! Thank you to everyone...Vince is dearly loved by all!! More posts tomorrow! God bless!

I PRAY THAT IT IS NOT BONE CANCER AND THAT IT IS SOMETHING CUREABLE AND THAT THE DR.s FIND OUT SOON SO THAT VINCE CAN BE OUT OF PAIN. I CLAIM THIS VICTORY HEALING IN CHRIST JESUS! IF it is bone cancer... I pray for the best case scenario. I pray in Jesus' name that it is benign and I pray that the bone biopsy, would be smooth and the least amount of pain to Vince. I pray that the safest and most efective of the two ways...open biopsy or a core biopsy would be done and done quickly so the Capaldi family may have answers to many questions very soon.
I pray the best surgeons and doctors would be put in place right now under the direction of God Almighty Himself. I pray that the Lord continues to give Ronda, Jim, Vince, my beautiful Veronica and the rest of the family peace. Love you guys.

Completely floored today to hear about what's happening with Vince. Jim & Ronda, our family is praying for good news and for a quick recovery. We just went through something similar with one of our sons best friends (he was only in 1st grade!) He is finished with his treatment and he's doing great now! I know how close Michael & Vince are...I'm sure this must be pretty scary for Michael & your daughter to watch their big brother go through. Stay strong for each other. God will look over Vince and your family. Please let us know if you need anything. We're here for you.
